11.85 meters long overall, 3.15 wide at the hawk, seven tons of displacement.

Regatta setup: 63 main sail + 23 secondary sail: total 86 square meters.
Our bragosso is very close to the original ones, when they obviously only sailed or rowed, while the more modern ones are already designed for motors.
The line performs well in tackling the sea, as did the Chioggia fishing companies who also spent several months fishing towards Croatia.
Not by chance, the construction of the hull was preceded by a long study of photographs and construction plans of the time and by visits to museums.Modern materials were used for the two sails, but respecting classic sizes, colors and designs.
And, once the load tests have been completed, all the armament will also be in line with history.
The bragosso, however, does not want to be an “experiment” in historical recovery for its own sake.
The purpose is sporting, to participate in lugsail regattas, but also cultural and educational, to disseminate a sailing culture that unfortunately is disappearing: this is a boat that lends itself very well to families.
There is no better way to experience the lagoon and get to know its islands. You can book a simple tour or a stay experience, an aperitif with friends or a Venetian culinary experience.
The mission of this project is to contribute to the preservation of the maritime traditions of Venice.
The Bragosso Altino is a real replica of the most used fishing boat in Venice before the introduction of the engine. Hundreds of ‘Bragossi’ used to fish until a century ago.
This project will allow any person in the world to experience what is about sailing a traditional venetian classic boat as it used to be 100 years ago.
And all the people who will sail this boat will also contribute to the preservation of this heritage. The funds collected by renting this boat will finance the maintenance and the material replacement to preserve this boat forever.
The next generations will have the same opportunity you have today to experience the sailing of a real Bragosso.
We strongly believe in sustainable and ecological tourism. We also believe that this can be combined with the preservation of old traditions” Giovanni Vercio and Alessandro Vercio, founders of this project.
